Srimad Bhagavad Gita is the essence of all Vedic Scriptures, dating back more than 5000 years. Every question and aspect of life is answered concisely in the Gita's 700 verses. The Bhaktivriksha program aims to systematically discuss the Gita and other Vedic scriptures, and how these teachings can be applied to make one's life truly sublime. The progr a.m.includes chanting, singing, and music, Bhakti Yoga practice, discussions, and sumptuous food for all participants. Locations vary; please call or email for information.

Essence of Bhagavad Gita

When : Saturdays, 5:30-8:15 p.m. (followed by Aarti and Dinner prasadam)
Where: ISKCON Temple (2095 NW Aloclek #1107, Hillsboro, Oregon 97124)
A sequential study of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, with group discussions, japa, kirtan and arotik, and prasadam! Please try to join us in the classes and share your realizations – your association is very valuable for us. Classes are Saturday evenings, at the temple (series starts Jan 4th 2014, but you may join in at any time).

Schedule:
5:30-7:30 p.m. – Discussions on verses and Japa
7:30-7:50 p.m. – Aarti
7:50 p.m. - Prasadam

Science of Self Realization
When : Saturdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m. (followed by Aarti and Dinner prasadam)

Did you ever wonder if God really exists? Why bad things happen to good people? What the purpose of human life is? Where you came from and why you are here? Science of Self Realization explores the answers to these timeless questions and summarizes the essential teachings of the Bhagavad Gita in a structured format. Questions and discussions are highly encouraged! Classes are followed by arotik, kirtan, and prasadam dinner.

Rama Navami Celebrations
Evening of Tuesday, April 8th
Rama Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Rama, and is one of the most auspicious days in the Vaisnava calendar.  Lord Rama is an incarnation of the Supreme Lord who appeared on Earth several millennia ago. He demonstrated perfect moral values and was the perfect son, student, brother, husband and king.  His extraordinary pastimes are depicted  in the famous epic The Ramayana.

Visit of His Holiness Romapada Swami
Tuesday, April 15th to Thursday, April 17th
It is our great fortune to be soon be having the association of HH Romapada Swami Maharaj. Maharaj will be giving spiritual initiation (deeksha) to some devotees during this visit. Please do not miss the opportunity to witness this rare event in Portland on Wed, April 16th! Scheduling will be announced soon.
